The Hausner family butcher's shop in Weiden relies on the PricoPlex tray system
32 branches, more than 300 employees: the Hausner family butcher's shop in Weiden is known to its customers as a reliable supplier of meat and sausage products. At Hausner, everything is freshly cut and packaged. Owner Alexander Hausner leaves self-service products to other stores. Instead, he focuses on advice and the high-quality presentation of his products. That's why he uses trays from PricoPlex in his counters.

Family tradition since 1898
Since 1898 the Hausner family butcher's shop in Weiden. It is currently run by the fourth generation, Alexander Hausner and his cousin Carolin Hausner. And the next generation is already working in the business. Continuity is therefore a top priority at Hausners. But the butcher's family also knows that ultimately, only those who keep changing will survive. "Our 32 branches are located within a radius of 100 kilometers around Weiden." With this number of stores, there is always a need for change. You have to keep up with the times and offer customers a great shopping experience at their butcher. "That's why we rebuild our stores from time to time to improve the ambience," says Alexander Hausner. When a remodeling is due, the counter is also replaced. The master butcher took this opportunity to switch his product presentation to the high-quality PricoPlex trays.

The PricoPlex field service brings the trays and stocks the counter
The Hausner butcher's shop and PricoPlex have been working together for several years. Alexander Hausner sees the know-how and service offered by the tray manufacturer's field service as a major advantage. The fact that equipping a counter goes so smoothly is due to the tray manufacturer's decades of experience, which have made it the market leader in Germany. "When a customer makes an enquiry, every sales representative knows exactly what to do: we first ask for the counter data and the customer's product range and inquire about their specialties. Of course, we are very familiar with the individual counter builders and know which product range fits into which model," reports PricoPlex Managing Director Christian Priebe.
The formwork system is very flexible
Another advantage is the extreme flexibility of the PricoPlex shuttering system. "It fits into any counter depth. This high quality pays off for many years. I have something of value and can use it for longer than trays that are cheaper to buy. We also get good feedback from our store teams when it comes to handling," reports Hausner.

Impact-resistant plastic makes the trays particularly durable
Priebe explains the robustness of his shells as follows: "Our plastic is unbreakable, which sets it apart from other plastics. We use ABS - this carrier material is comparable to a car bumper - and wafer-thin Plexiglas, which gives the shell a sealed surface. In addition, the top layer, the Plexiglas, is dyed the same color as the base material. Scratches, which occur again and again in day-to-day work, are then not noticeable. These components make our bowls durable and hard-wearing." Melamine is not used at all for bowl production. This is because, on the one hand, it is not break-resistant and, on the other, it releases substances that are hazardous to health when exposed to heat.
Not all Hausner branches have the same layout. The butcher's shop has to adapt to the local conditions. "Our counters therefore also have different lengths," explains the owner. At some locations, sales may not develop as quickly as desired, in which case we have a problem with a long counter with many meters of presentation space. PricoPlex also has the solution to this problem: the butcher's shop has ordered trays with relatively wide edges, which take up more space. As a result, the counter looks well filled, even though fewer goods are presented.

The butcher's shop can also vary seasonally
The PricoPlex tray system is also well suited to the different requirements of seasonal products. "We use the same trays in summer and winter," emphasizes Hausner. In the warm season, sausage products can be removed from the counter in favor of grilled meat, thus playing with the available space. The barbecue skewers from PricoPlex, for example, which are clearly visible in the tray, are also very appealing in summer.
The oval trays CUT are suitable for a wide variety of specialties. The black bowl color makes Christmas products look even more festive.

The butcher takes over the supermarket's fresh food counter
With PricoPlex, the Hausner butcher's shop is well equipped for future product presentation. And the family business is also open to new store concepts. "In a supermarket, we provide the entire 18-metre-long fresh food counter. Here, customers can pick up meat and sausage from the specialist store as part of their weekly shopping. Hausner explains why this concept is interesting for him and the store: "It's very expensive for an independent store operator to run a fresh food counter. He needs specialist knowledge and staff to present and sell the goods. We provide both and he doesn't have to worry about anything."
The butcher's shop also often sells its products in the checkout area of supermarkets. Whether it's his own store, prepayment or an integrated fresh food counter in the market, Alexander Hausner is convinced that the specialist sale of meat and sausage products has a future - because quality is still very important to many customers. Hausner also has this quality requirement, which is why he opted for the PricoPlex tray system.
