Gigantic 56-meter counter at EDEKA Kohler optimally equipped with PricoPlex
A paradise for gourmets stretches over 55 meters in gentle curves: meat, fish, cheese, antipasti, spreads and salads await connoisseurs at the record-breakingly long fresh food counter at EDEKA Kohler in Emmendingen. The family business from Lahr in the Black Forest has a total of 15 stores, with the 16th currently under construction. When a new supermarket is built or an existing store is modernized, EDEKA Kohler equips its fresh food counters with PricoPlex counter trays.
From Kehl to Freiburg
Martha and Wilhem Kohler founded their first store in Oberweiler in 1950. Further store openings and takeovers soon followed, so that EDEKA Kohler is currently represented at 15 locations from Kehl to Freiburg. Another store will soon be opened in Offenbach. The stores range from large e-centers to small local suppliers. The most impressive is probably the store in Emmendingen with its 56-meter-long fresh food counter.
From Wienerle to Serano ham
The proximity to France attracts French as well as German customers to the supermarkets. The full-range store sells everything from Wienerle (Viennese sausages) to Serrano ham. The supermarket also offers a large selection of poultry. But it's not just meat lovers who will find what they're looking for at EDEKA Kohler's fresh food counters. The range also includes fish and cheese, while vegans will be particularly pleased with the large selection of salads and antipasti. The best shopping experience
With every acquisition and every new store, EDEKA Kohler aims to create the best shopping experience for its customers. The stores are therefore given a new interior and a new fresh food counter. After all, attractively presented goods invite customers to buy - this is especially true of fresh food counters. EDEKA Kohler opted for the trays and the expertise of PricoPlex. Steininger explains: "PricoPlex provides us with individual solutions for every store." The premium counter tray manufacturer offers the right equipment for both small and large counters.
Simple elegance
When designing the counters, Steininger focuses on simple elegance. "We don't use too many colors. Organic products are presented in white, conventional products in black trays," explains the master butcher. His aim is to create a calm counter image. The use of steps facilitates the presentation of cheese, meat and sausage products. He also highlights the optimal use of space as an advantage:
"Some of our counters have a lot of corners. PricoPlex products are designed for this - every corner is filled appropriately. The PricoPlex service also includes suggestions on how the goods can be presented in the best possible way."

Large counters, perfectly equipped
Edeka Kohler benefited from the tray manufacturer's expertise when designing its 56-metre-long fresh food counter at the E-Center in Emmendingen. Over an impressive 56 meters, customers can choose from numerous meat and sausage products, cheeses, salads, spreads and antipasti. The counter has many nooks and crannies - thanks to the PricoPlex trays, no space is lost. "The PricoPlex team planned the counter perfectly"says Steiniger.
Specialties: from cheese to olives
Robust trays
A total of 200 employees work at the fresh food counters in twelve stores. They also benefit from PricoPlex products. The trays are easy to clean in the dishwasher and do not need to be polished. This saves time. "Normally, the counter equipment is attacked by the dishwashing cycles and the relatively harsh detergent. We have not yet noticed this with PricoPlex trays"Steiniger reports. Even if they fall on the floor - which can happen quickly in hectic counter operations - the trays are not damaged. The PricoPlex field service demonstrated this impressively on site in Lahr: the tray, which he threw forcefully onto the floor, survived unscathed.

Double set of trays
EDEKA Kohler always keeps at least one double set of trays per counter. If a tray is empty, it can be replaced immediately with one that is already full.
