That is the declared aim of the Prechtl supermarket chain, emphasizes authorized signatory Jochen Aumüller. He is responsible for the four stores in Bad Aibling, Bad Feilnbach, Brannenburg and Raubling. The idea of service and a good shopping experience for customers plays a central role for him and his team: EDEKA employees respond to customers' wishes, especially at the fresh food counter. "We will always have a service counter. That's what we've done best for 125 years, it's our DNA," enthuses Aumüller. No wonder he relies on PricoPlex, the tray manufacturer from Eresing. After all, the company is also committed to optimizing counter equipment.
26 m counter newly equipped for a special shopping experience
The flagship of the Prechtl Group is the store in Bad Aibling. Almost 3000 square meters of sales area and 26 m of staffed counter invite customers to shop. Last year, Aumüller embarked on a major project there: "We completely rebuilt the store during ongoing operations." As part of the conversion, the counter was also renewed and completely refitted. This is managed by a team of 50 employees. It offers everything your stomach desires, from meat to sausage, cheese, delicatessen and fish.
The fresh food counter is a real eye-catcher. It is not linear, but is broken up into several waves. "In a curved counter, I have angles and arches, so I need the right angled bowls." explains Aumüller, adding: "The investment costs for the counter are huge and we can't afford to give away space."

Durable and robust
The PricoPlex promise is kept
In constant use and permanently exposed to high dishwasher temperatures, the fresh food counter trays at EDEKA Prechtl stores have to withstand a lot. This is why Aumüller has been relying on the PricoPlex quality promise "durable and robust" for 15 years. For its Managing Director Christian Priebe, the sustainability of his products is a top priority. "For me, sustainability is what lasts," says Priebe. Longevity is achieved through the use of extremely robust composite materials. Melamine is not used at all for the production of bowls. For one thing, it is not break-resistant, and for another, it cannot be recycled.
A layer of Plexiglas seals the surfaces of the bowl. The Plexiglas is also dyed the same color as the base material. "Scratches, which occur again and again in daily work, are then not noticeable. These components make products from PricoPlex Durable and hard-wearing" explains Priebe.
The modular formwork system simplifies purchasing and operation
It is not only the extremely robust plastic of the trays that has made the Prechtl supermarket group a long-standing PricoPlex customer. The tray system can be customized in many ways - in its shapes, colors, sizes and surfaces. At Prechtl, the different colors are used to identify the various product categories. The counter teams place the poultry in yellow trays. Fish, on the other hand, is presented in blue bowls and trays. Black is reserved for meat and green stands for organic products. "The color scheme makes it easier to separate the different product groups. This not only provides orientation for customers, but also for our employees, which in turn helps them to comply with HACCP guidelines," explains authorized signatory Aumüller. The PricoPlex trays therefore also support food hygiene standards.

Food preferences are changing. The consumption of certain foods has been declining for a few years now. Sales of pork and sausage, for example, are declining. "But all types of beef are in high demand. Delicatessen salads and fish are also very popular with our customers," explains Aumüller. He knows that he has to keep his finger on the pulse with his service counters, as this is also part of a good shopping experience. Another reason to work with the tray manufacturer from Eresing on a permanent basis. "PricoPlex has the right answer for all our product groups. In addition, the great look of the trays matches our high-quality counters." says Jochen Aumüller.
