Winner of the 2026 Fleischstar Award—and PricoPlex played its part: REWE Haase in Neustadt in Holstein impressed the jury with an appealing and well-thought-out presentation at its fresh meat counter. The store also regularly receives positive feedback from customers. The Fleischstar award, presented by Lebensmittel Praxis, honors the best meat counters in the food retail sector that offer a first-class selection of meat and sausages, expert advice, and an appealing presentation. For Thorben Macke, master butcher at REWE Haase, one thing is clear:“The PricoPlex trays definitely played a part in us receiving this award.”

As a full-range retailer, REWE Haase offers the approximately 16,100 residents of Neustadt a wide selection of products across 2,900 square meters. At the heart of the store are the spacious fresh food sections. Thorben Macke has been working at the store, which opened in 2022, since 2023. The store has a unique feature for visitors: the fresh food counters are located in different areas of the store. These include the meat and deli counter, a cheese counter, and a fish counter—the only one located past the registers, which also offers seating.

The PricoPlex product line was integrated into the store right from the opening. A customer service representative introduced the products—and ever since, the counter trays and countertops have been an integral part of the counter setup. For Macke, the biggest advantage became clear right away: “PricoPlex products are just really durable. The trays hardly ever break and show no signs of wear.” The day-to-day statistics confirm this: Since Macke has been working at the store, “maybe four trays have broken.” A figure that, in daily use, clearly speaks to the quality of the products.
