Grand Opening Ceremony with Industry Gathering

What a success: Around 100 industry experts, sales managers, and fresh produce managers from the food retail sector in Germany and Austria gathered at our facility on September 15 and 16. We celebrated our move to the Eresing location and the grand opening of the new warehouse with a “Törggelen” celebration. All participants came prepared to learn from one another. The topic of sustainability was a common thread throughout the presentations, conversations, and discussions, providing all participants with new perspectives.

Industry experts and business administrators will give presentations

From artisan butchers to supermarket managers, we came together under the theme “Törggelen Meets Sustainability!” Our guests had the opportunity to gain inspiration from expert presentations with a strong practical focus: How can sustainable meat products be sold in times of high price sensitivity? Can conventional meat also be particularly sustainable? How can the retail and artisan sectors counteract the shortage of skilled workers? Can changes be actively implemented within companies? How can local producers and supermarkets best support one another?

The audience agreed: the gathering and exchange will foster new ideas and collaborations in the spirit of sustainability. “Mutual learning rather than going it alone is something we all expressly desire,” said meat expert Fritz Gempel, summing up the successful event.

Sustainability is part of PricoPlex's corporate philosophy

The new building in Eresing features natural materials, a green roof, and renewable energy generation. The building is powered by geothermal energy and its own PV system. The green roof filters the air, helps store water, and provides cooling and insulation for the office spaces. These measures ensure a sustainable, low-carbon energy supply in the long term. This also attracts tenants whose business models are based on sustainability. One such tenant is the startup Reverion, whose solutions ensure the optimal use of biogas.

The production of counter trays for the service counter is also committed to sustainability. PricoPlex uses high-performance plastics to keep raw material extraction and emissions as low as possible. PricoPlex relies on SymbioPlex (ABS/PMMA) and PerPlex (polycarbonate). Ultimately, clean waste management is also crucial.

The sheets and trays, manufactured in Germany using injection molding and vacuum thermoforming processes, guarantee a long service life—a factor that, according to Priebe, must absolutely be factored into sustainability assessments: From the source of raw materials through the production process to service life and waste management, some plastics already meet the requirement of being particularly sustainable. After all, plastic is irreplaceable in its current applications. It all comes down to the materials used and proper manufacturing, because durability equals sustainability.
